Configure Ruckus Devices for Analytics

Ruckus Location Based Services does not transmit data for Wireless Client MACs that the AP determines are randomized.

The Ruckus Venue Name and Ruckus Venue Password can be configured on the Analytics4WiFi Edit hotspot page. The venue name and password must match the configuration in your Ruckus network for the Analytics4WiFi platform to work.

  1. Ruckus ZoneDirector
  2. Ruckus SmartZone

Ruckus ZoneDirector

1. Login to the Ruckus ZoneDirector
2. Click on configure and go to Location Services
3. Create a new location venue
4. Fill in the following information
a. Venue Name: Please use the Ruckus Venue name from the hotspot settings in the Analytics4WiFi dashboard.
b. Server FQDN or IP Address: location-venue.analytics4wifi.com
c. Port: 8883
d. Password: Please use the Ruckus Venue password from the hotspot settings in the Analytics4WiFi dashboard.


e. Click Ok

5. Navigate to Configure and click Access Points
6. Edit the AP Group you want to use
7. Click Enable checkbox
8. Select the Venue Name previously created

9. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click OK

Ruckus SmartZone

  1. Login to the Ruckus SmartZone.
  2. Click System > General Settings and click on the Location Services tab.
  3. Click the “+Create” button.
  4. Fill in the following information
    a. Venue Name: Please use the Ruckus Venue name from the hotspot settings in the Analytics4WiFi dashboard.
    b. Server FQDN or IP Address: location-venue.analytics4wifi.com
    c. Port: 8883
    d. Password: Please use the Ruckus Venue password from the hotspot settings in the Analytics4WiFi dashboard.

    e. Click Ok

  5. Click Access Points and select the desired zone.
  6. Click the Configuration tab and click Configure.
  7.  Open the Advanced Options tab.
  8.  Scroll down to Location Based Services
  9. Click enable checkbox
  10. Select venue name previously created
  11. Press Ok to save the changes.
